Message from Chairman

We are pleased to announce the holding of “ARES Real Estate Investment Forum TOKYO” in September 2008,which will be co-hosted by REESA (Real Estate Equity Securitization Alliance). In this Forum, participants from all over the world such as institutional investors and asset managers will be able to learn the latest trends and advantages of the Japanese real estate investment market.

 

Considering the rapid increase of cross-border real estate investment, it is essential for Japanese real estate investment market to improve the market environment to achieve competitiveness and promote the inflow of foreign funds.

 

The Japanese real estate investment market has actually been expanding steadily as the real estate securitization becomes widespread, while diversifying its investment into various property types other than office such as apartment and condominium, hotel, retail, warehouse, and industrial. The transparency of the market has also been increased through the efforts including the enforcement of “Financial Instruments and Exchange Law” and the publication of “J-REIT Property Index” by ARES.

 

We believe the Japanese real estate investment market has many advantages not only for overseas pension funds that have already expanded their investments into real estate as an asset class, but also for Japanese pension funds as the alternative investments.

 

We look forward to welcoming you to the Forum that will be a wonderful opportunity for all participants to appreciate the growth and future potential of the Japanese market and get useful information for investing into Japanese and other Asian properties.
